All gifts and pledges of $5,000 or more qualify for a 1:1 match

Morrie Waud, long-time friend and donor to the UW School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM), has committed $5 million to match gifts and pledges toward the school’s Animals Need Heroes Too campaign for a building expansion – the most important project the school will undertake in the next 30 years.

Your gift will help us train the next generation of veterinarians and biomedical researchers — and it will have an even bigger impact with the Morrie Waud 1:1 Match.

To date we’ve raised $3.5 million, but for the SVM to remain a leader we must expand and update our main building. To make this happen, we need your support in raising the $1.5 million needed to complete the match.

HOW THE MORRIE WAUD MATCH WORKS

  • Gifts or pledges of $5,000 or more will be matched 1:1. Employer-match contributions can be used to reach the $5,000 minimum.
    (Gifts less than $5,000 do not qualify for the Morrie Waud Match. However, gifts of any size are appreciated and can be made online to the general building fund.) 
  • Naming opportunities will be available.
    Recognition details will be identified when building plans are completed in 2018-20. Gifts of $25,000 or more will be assured a naming opportunity.
  • Match commitments can be made as a single gift or multi-year pledge.
    Pledges can be made via payroll deductions, monthly automatic credit card charges, or annual reminders. If you’d like to make a gift by IRA Rollover or by gift of stock, contact Heidi Kramer.
