Life Saving Teamwork

When Paul and Suzy Shain’s chocolate Cockapoo, Cooper, was suffering from a mystery illness, they turned to UW Veterinary Care for help. Cooper’s primary care veterinarian referred the Shains to UWVC after he began experiencing an inexplicable loss of appetite, upset stomach, and elevated enzyme levels in his liver. Through their combined efforts, UWVC’s experts in internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, pathology, and critical care determined that Cooper had an abnormally small liver. With the mystery solved, they helped the Shains learn how to control Cooper’s symptoms with dietary changes. Watch Suzy Shain talk about her experience at UWVC and her tremendous joy and relief at having Cooper back to his old self.
